Assistant Manager - Lewiston
The Assistant Store Manager contributes to the success of Ampersand Oil & Vinegar Tap House (Ampersand) stores & website by inspiring customers on all points of their culinary journey. This role supports a General Manager (GM) & CEO in the achievement of sales goals, store operations, and the staffing and performance management of all retail employees. The Assistant Store Manager reports to either a General Manager (GM) and CEO.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITES:

Models and holds employees accountable to customer service standards.

Contributes to an environment where employees are informed and capable by supporting and/or delivering training for all employees.

Models and ensures all Ampersand policies and standard operating procedures are communicated effectively to employees, maintained and consistently followed.

Supports the GM or CEO in proactively staffing the store according to retail census and fluctuations in seasonal business needs.

Works as a part of a high-performing team to achieve store’s sales plan. Supports sales driving initiatives, creates daily agendas and directs selling activities as Manager on Duty.

Provides coaching in the moment and performance feedback to employees. May assist the GM or SM in delivering formal performance reviews.

Seeks opportunities to increase topline retail sales and directs employees to execute sales driving initiatives.

Anticipates and solves problems by taking decisive action, follows up with the GM or SM..

Manages deliveries according to standard operating procedures. Drives and manages inventory events. Controls shrink and retail supply expenses.

Stays informed by maintaining product knowledge, accesses available training and seeks out additional resources when necessary.

Additional responsibilities as assigned by GM or SM.

Cooking Class Chef
Must be available evenings (2-6:30 and or 4 - 9:30) and Saturdays (9:30-6:30).

Must have an interest in good food and teaching people cooking and food skills in a fun filled environment. We are willing to train the right person who loves food, entertaining & teaching. Culinary education not necessary however culinary understanding and comfort speaking and teaching about food required. This person will be responsible for developing menus and recipes for teaching 1-2 cooking classes per week along with working 1-2 shifts helping customers as part of our retail team.
Retail Sales Associate
Must be available some days (9:30-2) some evenings (2-6:30 and or 4 - 9:30) and Saturdays (9:30-6:30).

Ampersand's retail associates are the face of our company and the first impression customers have upon entering the store. Your core job responsibility is helping customers through their culinary journey by providing an experience that is beyond expectations. Along with helping customers, your roll is dynamic within the store and you will be responsible for completing a number of additional tasks to help the general flow and function of business. You will also be responsible for helping with cooking classes by assisting the chef, setup and cleanup, and waiting on guests during classes.
